Welcome to Peel, operated by Klip Studio LLC ("Company", "we", "our", "us").

Klip Studio LLC, a California limited liability company located at 4053 Timberline Dr, San Jose, CA 95121, operates the Peel mobile application (hereinafter referred to as "Service", "App", or "Peel").

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services. Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the application.

We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by updating the "Effective date" of this Privacy Policy. You are encouraged to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed of updates.

Our Terms of Service govern all use of our Service and together with this Privacy Policy constitutes your agreement with us.

2. Definitions

SERVICE means the Peel mobile application operated by Klip Studio LLC, available on iOS and Android platforms.

PERSONAL DATA means data about a living individual who can be identified from those data (or from those and other information either in our possession or likely to come into our possession).

USAGE DATA is data collected automatically either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of time spent on a screen).

RECIPE DATA means recipe content that you import, create, save, or share through the Service, including ingredients, instructions, photos, notes, and related information.

DATA CONTROLLER means Klip Studio LLC, the entity that determines the purposes for which and the manner in which any personal data are processed.

DATA PROCESSORS (OR SERVICE PROVIDERS) means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Data Controller. We may use the services of various Service Providers in order to process your data more effectively.

USER means the individual using our Service.

3.2. Recipe Data

As a recipe management application, we collect and store recipe-related information, including:

(a) Imported Recipes: Recipe content you import from third-party websites, social media platforms, or other sources, including recipe titles, ingredients, instructions, cooking times, serving sizes, and source URLs;

(b) Recipe Photos and Images: Images associated with recipes, whether imported from third-party sources or uploaded by you;

(c) User-Created Content: Recipes you create from scratch, modifications to imported recipes, cooking notes, ingredient substitutions, and ratings;

(d) Meal Plans: Meal planning data, including scheduled recipes, grocery lists, and planning preferences;

(e) Recipe Organization: How you organize, categorize, tag, and search for recipes;

(f) Recipe Sharing: Recipes you choose to share with other users and any associated comments or interactions.

IMPORTANT: Recipe Data may include content imported from third-party sources. You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights, licenses, consents, and permissions to import, store, and share any Recipe Data through the Service. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to use such content. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Klip Studio LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from or related to your Recipe Data or your use of third-party content. 3.3. Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information when you access and use the Service, including:

(a) Device Information: Device type, operating system and version, unique device identifiers (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android), mobile network information, device settings;

(b) App Usage Information: Features you use, screens you view, time spent in the app, frequency of use, interactions with recipes, search queries, buttons clicked, and other usage patterns;

(c) Log Data: IP address, app version, time and date of access, crash reports, error logs, and diagnostic information;

(d) Performance Data: App performance metrics, loading times, and technical data to improve Service quality.

3.4. Mobile Device Permissions

With your permission, we may access certain features and data from your mobile device, including:

(a) Camera: To allow you to take photos of recipes or food for your recipe collection;

(b) Photo Library: To allow you to select and upload photos from your device;

(c) Notifications: To send you push notifications about meal plans, reminders, app updates, or other Service-related communications;

(d) Network/Internet Access: To sync your data, import recipes from URLs, and provide online features.

You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings, though this may limit certain features of the Service.

3.5. Subscription and Payment Information

When you subscribe to premium features or make in-app purchases, we collect and store certain subscription-related information, including:

(a) Subscription tier and feature access level;

(b) Subscription start date, renewal date, and cancellation status;

(c) Purchase and transaction history;

(d) Subscription status (active, expired, canceled).

Note: All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple (for iOS) or Google (for Android). We never receive, collect, or store your payment card details, billing address, or other sensitive payment information. Apple and Google process payments according to their own privacy policies.

3.6. Information from Third-Party Sources

(a) App Store/Google Play: When you download the App or make in-app purchases, we receive limited information from Apple or Google, such as your transaction history and subscription status;

(b) Recipe Source Websites: When you import a recipe from a third-party website, we collect the publicly available recipe content from that source;

(c) Social Media: If you choose to import recipes from social media platforms, we may receive content you have made accessible through those platforms.

3.7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies, beacons, tags, and similar tracking technologies to collect usage data and improve the Service. In mobile applications, this typically includes:

(a) Analytics SDKs: Third-party analytics tools (such as mobile analytics platforms) to understand app usage and improve features;

(b) Session Data: To maintain your logged-in status and app preferences;

(c) Performance Monitoring: To track app performance, crashes, and errors.

You can control some tracking through your device settings, including limiting ad tracking and resetting your advertising identifier.

4.3. For Recipe Processing Technology

(a) Use AI-powered parsing technology to improve recipe import accuracy and quality when you import recipes from third-party websites;

(b) Analyze anonymized and aggregated usage data to improve Service features and performance.

Note: We currently use AI technology only for recipe import parsing. We do not use your personal information or individual recipe data to train machine learning models. If we introduce additional AI features in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and obtain your consent where required by law.

4.4. For Communications

(a) Send you service-related emails (account verification, password resets, important updates);

(b) Send push notifications about meal plans, reminders, or app updates (with your consent);

(c) Respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests;

5.3. Apple App Store and Google Play Store

When you make purchases or subscriptions through the App, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple or Google. They collect and process your payment information according to their own privacy policies. We receive limited information about your transactions, such as subscription status and purchase history, but we never receive your payment card details.

5.4. Other Users

When you choose to share recipes with other users or make content public within the Service, that information becomes visible to those users. You control what you share and with whom.

5.5. Legal Requirements and Protection

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to:

(a) Comply with legal obligations, court orders, or government requests;

(b) Enforce or apply our Terms of Service and other agreements;

(c) Protect the rights, property, or safety of Klip Studio LLC, our users, or others;

5.6. Business Transfers

We retain your account information and Recipe Data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30-60 days, except as described below.

6.2. Anonymized Data

Anonymized and aggregated data that cannot identify you personally may be retained indefinitely for analytics, research, and machine learning purposes.

6.3. Aggregated and Anonymized Data

Anonymized and aggregated data that cannot identify you personally may be retained indefinitely for analytics and service improvement purposes. This data cannot be linked back to you individually.

6.4. Legal and Compliance

We may retain certain information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and protect our legal rights, even after account deletion.

6.5. Backup Systems

Data may persist in backup systems for up to 90 days after deletion from active systems.

Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Klip Studio LLC shall not be liable for any unauthorized access to, disclosure of, or loss of your personal information or other data stored on our servers that results despite our implementation of reasonable security measures. You acknowledge and agree that you provide your information at your own risk. In no event shall Klip Studio LLC be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to any security breach or unauthorized access to your information.

(c) Anonymized data that cannot identify you personally may be retained for analytics purposes;

(d) Some information may be retained for legal compliance purposes;

(e) Data may persist in backup systems for up to 90 days.

8.4. Objection and Restriction

You have the right to object to certain processing of your personal information and to request that we restrict processing in certain circumstances.

8.5. Withdraw Consent

11. CalOPPA Rights (California Residents)

Under the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA):

(b) Users will be notified of any Privacy Policy changes through app updates and email;

(c) Payment processors (Apple App Store, Google Play Store);
